Target Catalogue

On this page you will find a wide range of measures and best practices to help you plan and implement your event sustainably. Use the filter options to select specific measures that match your action areas and targets.

Explanation sub-target:

The following areas are considered to be particularly worthy of protection: - legally protected biotopes - Forests, copses and trees - Nature reserves - Landscape conservation areas - National parks and national nature monuments - Core zones or maintenance zones of biosphere reserves - Fauna-Flora-Habitat areas (FFH areas) and bird sanctuaries (Natura 2000) Impairment is understood to include pollution, destruction, fragmentation, compaction and other detrimental changes. The organiser should define a separate, event-specific value for X.

Recommended target value:

A target value for sustainable action of 0 m² is recommended.

Indicator:

m² of utilised or impaired sites that are particularly worthy of protection

Explanation indicator:

Explanation sub-target:

Newly sealed sites include both temporary and permanently developed sites. New development for a sporting event can only be the most sustainable option in exceptional, well-founded cases. The organiser should define a separate, event-specific value for X.

Recommended target value:

A target value for sustainable action of 0 m² is recommended.

Indicator:

m² of newly sealed site

Explanation indicator:

It is recommended that the indicator be subdivided into temporarily and permanently sealed sites and protected assets (e.g. plants, animals, soil, air, people).

Explanation sub-target:

The necessity and scope of the expert opinion should be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Recommended target value:

Indicator:

Yes (incl. documentation) / No

Explanation indicator:

Explanation sub-target:

The term ‘specially protected species’ refers to species as defined in Section 44 (1) No. 2 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act (BNatSchG), whereby wild animals of strictly protected species and European bird species must be strictly protected during the breeding, rearing, moulting, hibernation and migration periods.

Recommended target value:

Indicator:

Yes (incl. documentation) / No

Explanation indicator:

The indicator is especially relevant for sporting events in the open countryside.

Explanation sub-target:

Warm white light refers to LEDs with a colour temperature below 3000 Kelvin. The organiser should define a separate, event-specific value for X.

Recommended target value:

A target value for sustainable action of 100 percent is recommended.

Indicator:

Percentage of outdoor lighting systems that use warm white light in relation to total outdoor lighting

Explanation indicator:

Lighting for TV coverage is not included in the indicator for the period of the coverage.

Explanation sub-target:

The organiser should define a separate, event-specific value for X.

Recommended target value:

A target value for sustainable action of 100 percent is recommended.

Indicator:

Percentage of outdoor lighting systems that give off directed light in relation to total outdoor lighting

Explanation indicator:

Explanation sub-target:

We are explicitly referring to noise that disturbs protected species and local residents, and not to noise reduction in general. The organiser should define a separate, event-specific value for X.

Recommended target value:

Indicator:

Number and type of measures

Explanation indicator:

The "type of measure" indicator is a qualitative description of the measure (e.g. what was actually implemented? How effective was the measure? What could be improved in the future?)

Explanation sub-target:

Impairments include phenomena such as pollution, compaction and dehydration. The organiser should define a separate, event-specific value for X.

Recommended target value:

The indicator “Type of measure” refers to a qualitative description of the measure (e.g., What was actually implemented? How effective was the measure? What could be improved in the future?)

Explanation sub-target:

For documentation purposes, it is recommended to provide evidence of the renaturalisation and restoration of the site.
