Target Catalogue

On this page you will find a wide range of measures and best practices to help you plan and implement your event sustainably. Use the filter options to select specific measures that match your action areas and targets.

Explanation sub-target:

Sustainability aspects for the transport concept include 1) intelligent event planning to minimise travelling, 2) specific targets e.g. to reduce traffic, modal split (i.e. the distribution of the transport volume of people across different modes of transport), promotion of environmentally friendly public transport, bicycle share and how this is to be achieved, 3) expected traffic from e.g. athletes and visitors and 4) concept for the arrival/departure of people with disabilities.

Recommended target value:

Indicator:

Yes (including documentation) / No

Explanation indicator:

It is recommended that the sustainability aspects taken into account be documented.

Explanation sub-target:

Recommended target value:

Indicator:

Modal split for travelling to and from the event venue

Explanation indicator:

The modal split describes the percentage share of the individual main means of transport in the total distance travelled to the event location (city) in km per person. The individual means of transport can be, for example Cars, motorised two-wheelers, lon

Indicator:

Modal split for travelling to and from the event venue

Explanation indicator:

The modal split describes the percentage share of the individual means of transport in the total distance travelled to the event venue (stadium) in km per person. The individual means of transport can be, for example cars, motorised two-wheelers, long-dis

Explanation sub-target:

In this context, zero-emission vehicles are only understood to be purely electric (battery-electric, overhead line, hydrogen vehicles) or non-powered vehicles (e.g. rickshaws). Established mobility services include, for example, the expansion of public transport capacity or the use of additional vehicles. The organiser should define a separate, event-specific value for X.

Recommended target value:

A target value for sustainable action of at least 80 percent is recommended.

Indicator:

Percentage of zero-emission vehicles in temporary and permanent mobility services in relation to the total number of vehicles 2 values: a) as the number of vehicles in the entire fleet and b) as vehicle kilometres driven

Explanation indicator:

Explanation sub-target:

The following groups of people are recognised as different groups: Visitors with ticket, visitors without ticket, volunteers and other accredited persons. For visitors without a ticket (side programme, fan zones), weekend ticket prices could be offered during the implementation phase of the sporting event, for example. The organiser should define its own, event-specific value for X.

Recommended target value:

A target value for sustainable action of 4 groups is recommended.

Indicator:

Number of groups and type of benefit

Explanation indicator:

The following points are recommended for the documentation: Utilisation with period and distance (scope) differentiated according to groups of people and indication of the amount of the discount.

Explanation sub-target:

Recommended target value:

Indicator:

Yes (including documentation) / No

Explanation indicator:

The period under review comprises the implementation phase of the sporting event.

Explanation sub-target:

The number of parking spaces for motorised private transport directly at the sports facility will be reduced to a minimum or excluded. This does not apply to car parks for people with disabilities. If the sporting event venue is located in a residential area, parking should only be permitted for residents. Park & Ride areas are made available via shuttle connections or public transport links.

Recommended target value:

Indicator:

Percentage of parking spaces for motorised private transport (MPT) in relation to the expected number of visitors

Explanation indicator:

The documentation of the share should, if possible, show the different parking capacities (distance to the event location, MPT for people with disabilities)

Explanation sub-target:

The organiser should define the event-specific main target groups from all stakeholder groups.

Recommended target value:

Indicator:

Number, type and scope of the measures

Explanation indicator:

The "type of measure" indicator is a qualitative description of the measure (e.g. what was actually implemented? How effective was the measure? What could be improved in the future?). The indicator “scope of the measure" refers to the people reached.

Explanation sub-target:

The organiser should define its own, event-specific value for X

Recommended target value:

A target value for sustainable action of 10 measures is recommended.

Indicator:

Number and type of measures

The indicator “Type of measure” refers to a qualitative description of the measure (e.g., What was actually implemented? How effective was the measure? What could be improved in the future?) The period under review comprises the implementation phase of

Explanation sub-target:

Sustainability aspects include, for example, potential savings through fully utilised vehicles, short distances and low-emission vehicles.

Indicator:

Distance travelled in km by logistics traffic

Explanation indicator:

It is recommended to subdivide the indicator by mode of transport (car, truck, train, cargo bike), vehicle type (electric mobility, combustion engine, etc.), functional area (catering, broadcast, etc.) and time period (set-up, implementation, dismantling)

Explanation sub-target:

Recommended target value:

Indicator:

Percentage of kilometres travelled by logistics traffic using greenhouse gas-free means of transport in relation to the total distance travelled by logistics traffic

Explanation indicator:

It is recommended to subdivide the indicator by mode of transport (car, lorry, train, cargo bike), vehicle type (electric mobility, combustion engine, etc.), relevant stakeholder group (catering, broadcast, etc.) and time period (set-up, implementation, d
